This one property size has grown by almost 20% in the last five years

Our latest research reveals that the average size of park homes in England has increased by almost 20% over the past five years, reflecting a growing demand for park homes as primary residences, not just holiday getaways.

In some English regions, however, the size increase has been vastly more dramatic.

The largest increase in average park home size has been observed in Yorkshire & Humber, where homes have grown by an impressive 64.6%, from 32.44m² in 2019/20 to 53.40m² in today.

The West Midlands has seen the size of park homes increase by 55.2%, from 39.85m² to 61.83m², followed by the South West – a particularly popular area for retirees and silver downsizers where homes have grown by 23.5%, to sit at an average size of 59.29m².

Other regions also showed notable growth: including the East of England (15.1%), the North East (14.6%), North West (14.2%), and South East (9.6%).

Sales & Marketing Director at Regency Living, Tim Simmons commented:

“With traditional bricks-and-mortar homes becoming increasingly expensive, especially in popular silver downsizer locations such as the South West and South East, park homes increasingly offer more and more value for money, not least due to the fact that they are getting increasingly larger.

This means park homes are not only offering higher living standards than ever before, with all the modern day amenities of a bricks and mortar home - but they are also offering far more space.

This change is being driven by an increasing number of people choosing to make a park home their permanent residence rather than just a holiday property. With this changing demand, the industry is responding with more spacious, thoughtfully designed living environments.

At Regency Living we’re proud to provide high-quality, generously proportioned park homes located in stunning areas across the country.”
