Find answers to some of the most asked questions about Park Bungalows and the lifestyle.

How old do I have to be to live on a Regency Living development?

Regency Living developments are for those aged 45 and over. This is a requirement of the site licence and applies to all persons who will be residing in the home.

Do I have to pay site fees?

Yes; the resident owns the Park Bungalow outright and Regency Living owns the land, so the site fees are essentially a rent for the ground the Park Bungalow is placed on. Site fees are payable on all Regency Living developments and the costs vary for each one. The upkeep of each home is the responsibility of each resident.

Are Park Bungalows accessible?

Park Bungalows can be adapted to suit the requirements of the resident. They are commonly updated to including ramps and accessible bathrooms for example.

Why does the price of a Park Bungalow vary?

Which services are supplied to my Park Bungalow?

Your home will be connected to gas, water and electricity prior to your completion on the property. It is the responsibility of the resident to ensure that all bills are kept up-to-date.

Do Park Bungalows retain their value?

As long as they are well maintained, the value of a Park Bungalow will often remain in line with the current market value.

Can I get a traditional mortgage on a Park Bungalow?

No, unfortunately not. This is due to the nature of the tenure and the classification of the home.

How long can I live in a Park Bungalow?

As long as you like! These are residential homes that must be the owner’s primary residence and can be lived in all year round. The owner has the right to occupy the home in perpetuity (for all time) for as long as their site fees are paid.

Can I leave my Park Bungalow to someone in my will?

Yes you can. The recipient can then reside there themselves, as long as they meet the age requirements of the development, or sell the home on the open market.

Can I sell my Park Bungalow?

Should you decide to move on, you can sell your Park Bungalow via a traditional estate agent. A 10% commission of the final selling price is payable to Regency Living as the owner of the land, which is a government directive.

Are Park Bungalows energy efficient?

The BS3632 building regulations strive to guarantee that Park Bungalows deliver comfortable and energy-efficient living spaces. This standard encompasses design and construction elements, including structural integrity, insulation, ventilation, fire safety, plumbing, electrical systems, and overall construction quality. It establishes precise criteria for factors such as insulation material thickness and performance, structural strength and durability, and the effectiveness and safety of heating and ventilation systems.

Are there rules for the development?

Yes, each development is governed by a set of Park Rules, which establishes the reasonable conditions that all residents must live by in order to benefit from peaceful occupation of their home.
